We have a great range of baseball scoreboards to suit most fields and budgets, whether you’re after a large fixed or video scoreboard, or a more modest portable scoreboard that can be easily moved and stored away when not in use.
Our baseball scoreboards are designed in our Australian workshop by our experienced technicians. Every scoreboard we build is quality tested before it’s shipped to ensure it can withstand the harsh Australian conditions.
Team colours and logos can be included on your scoreboard, and we can even customise design and build a board to suit your specific requirements
If you’re on a tight budget, consider a DIY scoreboard for your club. It’s a cost-effective option if you have the technical skill to install it yourself. We provide clear and simple instructions for you to construct your scoreboard and you save on installation costs!
Put simply, an electronic scoreboard uses an electronic means to display scores and other sporting information. Digital scoreboards display electronic team scores and other electronic information such as time clocks, game periods, team names, and they can also provide game horns and sirens.
To determine the best size scoreboard digits, calculate how far away your spectators will be from the scoreboard location. Ideally you will want those spectators to be able to clearly see all electronic display elements on the scoreboard e.g. times, scores, team names, etc.
If your scoreboard digits are too small, then it will reduce the effectiveness of your scoreboard. For example, if your spectators are 100 metres away you should use 300mm as the smallest digit height.
AusSport can provide you with expert advice about the best digit size, and a great viewing chart showing the distance away for various height digits. Contact our friendly team to send you the chart.
Your scoreboard location is not something you want to change after it is installed! So it is important to take time and choose the location carefully to ensure your scoreboard can be clearly seen by spectators. It sounds obvious but we have seen a number of installations where that was not the result.
The optimum location for your scoreboard is directly opposite the grandstand or location where most people gather to watch the sport.
Keep in mind sun orientation at the time when the majority of sport is being played. AusSport scoreboards are amongst the brightest in the industry, but it is better if you can shade the scoreboard from direct early morning or late afternoon sunlight.
Scoreboards can either operate via mains power, or a portable battery pack. For scoreboards that will run on mains power, it’s important to consider available power sources when determining the location of your new scoreboard.
It is expensive to do long runs of trenching and cable to access power. It may be possible to utilise a power circuit that is used for lighting towers although you should seek expert electrical advice on this. It is very important that the scoreboard is connected to a clean source of power.
For smaller scoreboards, we have a very handy battery powered solution. This is often combined with a scoreboard trolley so it is completely mobile.
NB Running the scoreboard from a generator is not recommended and potentially can void your warranty. If you ever have an emergency requirement please contact us on the correct device to use.
The cost of digital scoreboards varies widely and depend on the scoreboard size, type, and quality. In Australia, small numeric outdoor scoreboards start at approximately $5500 + GST and then prices increase as you add larger digits, features and complexity. The most expensive scoreboards are extra large outdoor LED video scoreboards. These are modular so can grow to Stadium size. For most suburban grounds the costs can range between $60000 – $150,000 or more, depending on factors like screen size and resolution and installation.
AusSport offers a complete service to supply and construct your scoreboard so you won’t have to worry about anything.
If you are a volunteer clubs with limited funds but willing volunteers with expertise, a DIY approach could be a great solution. Your Club can save money by fabricating the structure, arranging the concretoer and arranging to have the scoreboard lifted into place.
You won’t be alone though as AusSport will guide you through the whole DIY process from start to finish. Keep in mind you will always need to have professional engineering certification for your scoreboard construction.
Including club colours and logos on your scoreboard is easy! At AusSport, we employ a full-time graphic designer and have a complete printing shop. We work closely with you to produce artwork to be applied to your board. Logos, Club colours, and memoriam messages are all possible because of our unique capability.

Powdercoated and riding on generous pneumatic tyres, AusSport trolleys are fitted with stabilising arms and convenient handles to make it simple to wheel the scoreboard in and out of storage, and onto fields or courts.
Check where you want to store the scoreboard to ensure you have space and access. AusSport can provide exact dimensions of all our scoreboard / trolley combinations.
Combine the trolley with our battery pack and you have the complete mobile solution.
Some electronic scoreboard models are designed to be used across multiple sports. These multiple-use scoreboards are a great asset for sporting clubs that offer multiple sports. For instance, an AFL scoreboard can also be used as a cricket scoreboard, as well as soccer/league/union. Perfect for teams that play on the same oval. The electronic AFL team names become batter names, and the scores change to batter totals, overs.
Digital scoreboards are all based on LEDs, an electronic device that emits light when an electrical current flows through it. A digital scoreboard is made up of many LEDs, and it operates by sending current to the LEDs in the right sequence to show the scores or other information. Digital scoreboards are powered through either mains or battery power and can be controlled by a handheld wireless device, phone app, or laptop computer.
Portable outdoor scoreboards are mounted to a custom-made trolley so they can be wheeled between fields or courts, and stored away after use. Portable scoreboards can run on a mains power source or a portable battery pack.
